City approves A Avenue bridge replacement

The Kalona City Council awarded a $486,864 contract Tuesday for replacement of the A Avenue bridge to Iowa Bridge and Culvert, Washington. The bridge will be replaced with a RCB double-box culvert and work is projected to start in late October or early November, according to City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh.
